Sketchfab recently announced their 200,000th uploaded 3D model; while this is clearly an impressive milestone on its own merit, recent news from the company makes it even bigger. Sketchfab has now announced that they have launched a brand new download option -- users can now not just embed or view 3D models, but also download designs. Those uploading their designs have an option to allow viewing and embedding only or to allow other users the rights to download the model under Creative Commons license. Several entities have teamed up with Sketchfab to build up the overall collection of downloadable models. Some of the bigger names with downloadable galleries are the British Museum, CyArk, HTC, Microsoft, Formlabs, and designer Francis Bitoni.
