Two heavy hitters in the area of biomedical research are teaming up to work on ten projects centered around furthering innovations in the area of 3D printed biomedical technologies and applications. Adding serious medical knowledge to the materials and technology provided by OPM, seven Yale faculty members will be involved in the projects researching the use of PEKK (OPM’s high performance polymer, poly-ether-ketone-ketone) in creating new 3D printed cranial and facial attachments, rib prostheses, vertebral fusion therapeutics, and devices delivering antibiotics after implants have been inserted.
