    Ubuntu connectivity to ramps

    I have Ubuntu 14.04 on my laptop, I can't seem to get pronterface to connect to the Ramps. At first I got an access denied, but googled that and added myself to the dialout group. Now I am getting an invalid baud rate, when I try various baud rates, I get the same error. I can try a windows laptop, and I will tonight, but am wondering if I am missing something.

    Not sure if you saw this video on Ubuntu by ZennmasterM but it might help!

    Not sure that I ran both of the extra commands after the install, so I will give that a shot tonight and see what happens.

    Ah ok, I'm running on a PC with Windows or else I'd give you more specific info. I just remember seeing this ZennmasterM video way back when I was watching every video he had on the Makerfarm i3 before I decided to buy it.

    I run Ubuntu 14.04, and have Pronterface connect at 115200. You have to have it set that way in the printer firmware, too.

    The stock baud rate is non-standard, but should work fine on Ubuntu. I've used 12.04 without any problem.

    I couldn't get it to work on mine unfortunately. Hopefully mine is an isolated case.

    What does that mean set in in the printer firmware?

    In the Marlin firmware's configuration.h file, there's a place near the top to set the baud rate:

    // This determines the communication speed of the printer
    //#define BAUDRATE 250000
    #define BAUDRATE 115200

    is how I have mine set.
