Osteo3D, based in Bangalore India has used 3D printing to improve the life of a cancer patient who had a sizable portion of his upper jaw removed. Because he could not open his mouth wide enough to get an impression taken, they were forced to 3D print a model of his upper and lower jaw via a CT scan, and use those prints to create the impression for a wax mold for a prosthetic.
