French Doctors 3D Print a Fertilized Embryo

Every year thousands of women try to get pregnant via in vitro fertilization. The process, which costs about $12-$13k is certainly a costly one, whether it works or not. Professor Samir Hamamah and Dr. Elodie Scalici of the University Hospital of Montepellier and Dr. Mérigeaud of Tridilogy, LLC have developed a way in which doctors can better analyze the embryos before transplantation. They model them and then 3D print them. This wil hopefully increase the odds of a pregnancy. More details on this incredible process can be found here: http://3dprint.com/16822/3d-print-embryo-models-ivf

Well this technique will definitely be revolutionary for IVF technique. Proper examination of embryo is highly essential for the success of this process. This technique will help embryologist to analyze embryo as a whole instead of limiting to single-plane examination. It will certainly reduce the implant failure rate and increase patients trust toward the process.
