Back to square 1
Damn and blast! I haven't used my printer for nearly three months because of moving house. I tried to run a print last night and the steppers would not work.
Looks like I have to spend the day going over all the connections and bits to see what is wrong.

would anything else work, heater etc?? sounds like just the mains 12v not connected properly mate in the Ramps board, everything on the ramps will run and appear OK on mine (the LCD lights up etc.) with the usb just plugged in, often I forget to plug in the 12v to the mains too and wonder why my steppers don't work.. Just a thought.

Yep. Looks like a 12V power wire loose from the board, and a screw from the operator
