Organization is 3D Scanning Coral Reef
For any of you who have ever been to Hawaii, or Australia, you have likely witnessed the beauty that coral reefs offer. They also offer protection of the coastline, and are a major area in which you will find all sorts of amazing sea life. One non-profit organization called Hydrous has taken the initiative to 3D scan coral using Autodesk's Recap software. The coral can then be 3D printed. In fact they have made one model available for download, and several available to view. More details on this story can be found here: http://3dprint.com/12527/3d-model-coral-reefs/
Let us know if you have taken the initiative to 3D print any coral. If so, feel free to post some pictures here for us all!
