It seems like every day we stumble upon another awesome use for 3D printing which could potentially be saving lives. The latest comes out of England where researchers have 3D printed a biosensor which enables people in developing nations to know when the water in their area is safe for drinking. The biosensor works with a fuel cell filled with bacteria. The way in which is works can be read about here: http://3dprint.com/11979/3d-printed-sensor-clean-water

Could this 3D printable device be what it takes to prevent illness due to contaminated water, especially in developing countries?
