Talk about making a difference in the world. The World Animal Protection organization in the Netherlands is currently in the process of 3D printing a life-size elephant on uniquely modified Ultimaker 3D Printers. There are 5 3D printers hooked up to 2.5 meter tall columns that allow them to print objects a lot larger than a normal Ultimaker would print. All in all, it will only require 15 pieces to assemble the life-size elephant. The printing is being done as part of a campaign to bring awareness to elephant abuse, and for each person that pledges not to ride an elephant, a new section of the 3D elephant is printed.
