    Unhappy non smooth XY resolution

I'm extremely new to 3D printing and i was printing some gears i found off of thingaverse. The only problem i had was there are spaces on the X and Y plane and i cant figure out what is wrong with the printer I tried tweaking all the settings. the layer height, the infill, the shell amount, and the feed rate.

Can someone please try to explain to me? I'm really confused and just want to be able to print smoother objects

This is the object I was printing http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:40410

And this is the printer I'm using http://www.amazon.com/G-Star-Extrude.../dp/B00JQQF8RY

Software - Replicator G and python

A picture of your flawed gear print would be helpful!

gear.jpgHere is the gear. Around the outsides where the teeth are located you can see small gaps. and on the inside, instead of the face being smooth, you can see little clumped up balls .

Trying to print a whistle right now to see if its just the object i was using but i don't think so.

Your slicer is looking at your extrusion width, the width of those gaps and thinking "the extrusion width is too wide to fill in here, so I'll leave it blank." Are you using Slic3r? I've had these problems with Slic3r, but using Cura fixes the problem. You might also try reducing your extrusion width in your slicer settings.
