3D Printing and Space are seemingly two technologies which belong together, especially when you consider the multiple applications that exist today and will grow in the future. The National Research Council has put out a report on the potential that 3D printing will have in space. Some of the details of this report can be found here: http://3dprint.com/9610/3d-printing-space/

What do you think? Will 3D printing play a huge role in space exploration, or is it being grossly overhyped?

I think we have another 5-10 years before the technology will be developed enough to really make a difference on cost savings for NASA.
