Formlabs Announces Release of New Form 1+ 3D Printer!

Formlabs has just announced the release of their all new SLA 3D printer, the Form 1+. It looks very similar to the original Form 1 3D printer, but it has many upgraded features. It will feature a new laser system, which is 4X's more powerful than the laser in the original Form 1. It is also able to print objects up to 50% faster and print more detailed objects with smoother surfaces. These are only a few of the many new features. It will remain priced at $3,299 and it is available to purchase now! Read all the juicy details and check out the intro video of this new Form 1+ 3D printer at: http://3dprint.com/5384/form-1-plus-form-labs/

Also announced is a new Black resin, and an upgrade program for those that currently own the original Form 1.

This is how detailed you can get:

I'm very impressed at the results I have seen from this printer thus far. Formlabs just recently posted some sample prints that are really great looking:

These don't even appear as though they have come from a 3D printer...

Today, Formlabs announced 2 new resins. These include their Castable Resin, which is ideal for making jewelry and small parts, as well as their Flexible Resin. The Flexible Resin has so much potential, as it can be printed both thick and thin, to take on different properties. If printed thin it will be very pliable, but when printed thicker it becomes extremely impact-resistant. Gone are the days where SLA 3D printers limited us in material options. What do you think about these new materials? Read and see more at: http://3dprint.com/20327/formlabs-fl...astable-resin/

have to admit it's an impressive piece of kit.

Still expensive to run, but the prints are very high quality.

Hey guys. We were just made aware that Formlabs is now commencing shipments of this new Flexible resin material. I was able to check it out at a recent show. Let us know if you have purchased any, and if you have any feedback on it.

Does SLA still get brittle with sunlight, thus making it not suitable for production parts like FDM ?
