Judge Favors 3D Systems in Anticompetitive suit pertaining to their Resins

Last month a judge ruled in favor of 3D systems in a suit brought against them by DSM Desotech, a chemical production giant. The suit claimed that 3D Systems was involved in anti-competitive business practices for their tie-in model. They require only certain resins to be used within their SLA printers by using an RFID device.

The judge on the case ruled that 3D Systems was not at fault however. The full details of this article can be found here: http://3dprint.com/3906/3d-systems-ruling-dsm-desotech/

Just... wow. RFID lockout providing useful functionality to the user? No, the tiny benefit to the user should only be considered a secondary reason for being.

But maybe the ruling is the best that can be expected under the current legal framework.

I'm getting increasingly disenchanted with 3D Systems lately. As bad as Stratasys can be, 3D Systems seems to be worse.
