    Strong 3D printer frame kit?

I'm thinking of buying the Strong 3D printer frame kit and use parts from my PowerSpec Ultra 3D printer that broke down. I will need to buy a new controller board such as Smoothieware board and build platform. Any suggestions?

Another company makes 3D printer frame kits but they're very expensive - https://3ddistributed.com/collections/3d-printers
They didn't list the build volume but they use lead screw driven motion instead of belt driven motion.

So once you build a new frame and install a new controller board, your old printer will be good as new? What's left of it, the hot end and belts? Both of those frames seem like something you could put together out of standard 80/20 t-slot extrusions, using the metal hardware that's provided with it rather than plastic 3D-printed corners which don't look as strong.

I'm afraid to buy the kit from https://www.strong3dprinters.com/ because maker may be in China. There is a store that sell parts at https://www.smw3d.com/ They sell motion kits but which is better: belt-driven or screw-driven? I may build a machine that combines 3D printer and CNC router.

that kit claims to use 4040 aluminium extrusion - but what's shown in the pictures looks a lot more like 2020.
On refelction and working out the proportion of the slot to the rest of the extrusion - yes it is 4040. That's seriously heavy duty !

Also bear in mind for 4040 you'll need special nuts. I've been looking for metal nuts for my 30x30 - cheap they are not.
Cheapest I've found so far is £6.94 for 12 !
    the 4040 ones are £8.94 for 12 !

Ah - found some much cheaper ones !
    50 m4 thread for £6.28
    that'll do for me :-)
