    try to preheat printer shuts down

    I am new to all this , had my printer a few weeks now just a cheap DIY many good prints however i went to preheat hotend and bed,printer just shuts down and comes back on i figured out it is just the hot end not the bed, software? hotend bad?? no clue what to try besides buying installing new hotend.Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas.

    You can measure the Resistance of the Hot-end it should be between 2-20 ohms. If you do not have a meter a cheap one is about $10 at every auto parts store.
    The wire size is a big deal and many Chinese manufactures skimp on the wiring from the power cord to the 12/24 volt wiring powering the main Controller.
    If you have never used one before there are many videos on you-tube explaining how to use them.
