LPW recently conducted a case study regarding metal 3D printing or additive manufacturing powder. Educating their readers on the causes of porosity, they then examined why one particular part was exhibiting porosity, and even cracks. The concern on the part of LPW was that the porosity issues might be due to a new batch of metal 3D printing powder. As they continued to examine the issue though, they discovered it was a problem with the laser scan and a recently installed system. They helped the users learn how to optimize process parameters and eliminate the problems at hand. Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/181186/lpw-porosi...l-3d-printing/
