    Mezmorize yourself and print with Project Silkworm

    Recently I had my extruder at my maximum height of 200mm and I extruded about 2 feet of filament to diagnose something. I watched as the filament touched the bed below and then began to make these perfect organic coils over and over. It was memorizing and fascinating. I thought that there had to be a use for that but then I plowed on and never thought about it again. Apparently someone WAS thinking about it. This is cool:

    I believe that Neri Oxman was working on a 3D printing Silkworm model. I wonder if this was taken from her ideas:
