A team of researchers in Texas will be using 3D imaging to create computational models of cancer patients waiting to undergo pelvic surgery, one of the most invasive and difficult-to-recover-from surgeries. Dr. B.J. Fregly and his team will use the models to assess which type of procedure will allow patients to get back on their feet the most quickly, and will also 3D print prostheses to help them walk sooner.
