3D printing and April Fool's Day are a well-matched pair, as companies creating some big-name 3D printers and materials bring their innovation to humor, and makers, well, make us laugh. 2017 is no different, as Shapeways announces UpDog material and Formlabs brings the Form 2 into the kitchen with new enhancements. An Australian bank suggests that 3D printing money right from their new iTM smartphone is easier than hitting the ATM, FABtotum and Proto-pasta use the heated build plate of a 3D printer to bake the perfect pasta, and California announces a new replicator set to make 3D printers obsolete. The 3D Printing Nerd demonstrates the first voice-controlled 3D printer, as well, with the assistance of a few young helpers.
