Researchers in Vienna at TU Wien have discovered a way to advance the world of magnet manufacturing via 3D printing. Using a special printer, they use a material that extrudes magnetic micro granulate, bonded with a polymer material. The end result is a 3D printed permanent magnet that is very strong. The researchers see this innovation as being useful as they can transition between weaker and stronger magnets more quickly.
