When Tilly Lockey was 17 months old, she was rushed to the hospital and believed to be dying of meningitis. She survived, but lost both of her hands to the infection. Now, ten years later, she dedicates a significant portion of her time to raising awareness of the disease and to helping companies develop prosthetic hands for active children. She is currently working with Open Bionics to help them develop a set of 3D printed prosthetics. They aren't ready to go home from the lab just yet, but the feedback she provides is an invaluable part of the process of making them available.
