The use of 3D printed models for simulation in surgical training is becoming more and more popular, and in the latest, we see the St. Louis University Department of Neurological Surgery and the St. Louis School of Engineering collaborating with Stratasys Direct Manufacturing to create precise models for training. In doing so, Dr. Saleem Abdulrauf and his team of researchers are conducting a study to see how well the 3D printed models actually work, comparing patients whose surgeons have had use of the 3D printed models, as well as medical students training with and without the models.
