Thanks to 3D technology, we are now learning even more about the small Australopithecus, Lucy, found in the early 70s. Her death has been hotly debated as many scientists eschew the idea that our ancestors, even as far back as this, were arboreal in territory. As Ethiopia agreed to release her bones for scanning and further study, some researchers feel quite sure that she did indeed die from falling out of a tree and suffering fatal injuries. As the files for the bones in question are being released to other researchers who can 3D print them and study them, the discussion is becoming more heated as to how Lucy died.
