University of Bristol Students Create OMNI System, Includes 3D Printing

A group of engineering graduate students from the University of Bristol have created a low-cost, multi-functional CNC platform called the OMNI, which is equipped with 3D printing, milling, component placing, and metrology on a single platform. The OMNI was originally created for their final year Engineering Design project, but ended up netting the group a £20,000 award and business mentoring courtesy of JISC, a UK-based digital solutions provider specializing in education and research. The team hopes to turn their project into an educational tool to help provide affordable access to manufacturing technology and to promote STEM engagement. It's Alex from team Omni here - Brian thank you very much for the post and Tyler for the article!

We're very excited about the possibilities Omni can bring both to education and to the manufacturing world. If you have any questions or want any more information about the project we'd be happy to answer!
