    Formlabs Engineer 3D Prints Acoustic Violin

    Wow, we can’t wait to see what happens the next time Formlabs releases a new material. Upon the release of their updated white resin, the Formlabs team decided to go big, highlighting a major project led by Formlabs engineer Brian Chan, who made a 3D printed acoustic violin. Using Onshape as his design program, Chan eventually ended up making five different iterations on the Form 2 3D printer. Once completed, he handed over the 3D printed instrument to violinist Rhett Price, who wrote a song and made a video that shows him playing the results of Chan’s amazing work.     We did this some years ago making several violins from laser sintered PEK which were also used in a 3D printed band at the 2012 London 3DPrintshow
