Bradley Swift, an entrepreneur and beekeeper from Portland, Oregon, started a business selling beeswax lip balm five years ago, but recently he decided he needed to do something more with the wax his bees produced. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, he had a reverent appreciation for the mountains surrounding his home, and realized that their topography would make for striking candles. Using LiDAR data from Mount Hood, Mount Rainier, and Mount St. Helens, he and two friends created 3D models which were then printed and used to make molds for beautiful, detailed beeswax candles now on Kickstarter.
