3D Systems Releases Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS, Streamlines 3D Scanning

3D Systems has just released Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS, meant to offer greater ease, accuracy, and speed for users as they will be able to scan directly into the software, eliminating the need to spend hours rebuilding CAD data. Time and accuracy are a big part of the equation for designers and engineers, and with this new software plug-in, they will be able make feature-based solid- and surface-data in a more streamlined digital workflow. This will be added as a feature for the FARO Design ScanArm as well as the Artec 3D scanner lineup. Read more at 3DPrint.com: https://3dprint.com/137872/3ds-geomagic-solidworks/

    Geomagic for Solidworks... lol...

Geomagic is a brand name pertaining to a range of products including scanning, haptics, sculpting and 3D MCAD. I have been using Geomagic Design (MCAD - previously Alibre) for the last six years and the integration of 3D print features and direct-into-model scanning is a fantastic addition to any MCAD software.

Yes, with the vast range of products bearing the Geomagic name, putting it on this product doesn't clarify much. It seems they could have called it "Geomagic Wrap for Solidworks" and given people a better idea of what to expect.
