Summary: Using 3D printing technology and a process called photogrammetry, the organization Rekrei has recreated artifacts from the Iraq-based Mosul Museum, which was destroyed by ISIS militants back in 2015. After using crowdsourced photos of the museum from their community, Rekrei was able to render and 3D print replica models of the destroyed artifacts, which were recently displayed in the Museum of Art and Design New York.
