Well, the race will soon be on in the UK at the European International Submarine Races in Gosport, UK from July 6-15—and one team of six very excited engineering students will be cheering on their Godiva 2 sub, which boasts the title of being ‘the most 3D printed vessel on the grid.’ While students from the University of Warwick have been participating in this race for the last four years, this is the first year that they have used 3D printed parts in the final construction of their work—to include fins, the propeller’s shroud and blades, as fixings, housings, and internal steering components.
