Surgeons at South Korea's Chung-Ang University Hospital were able to successfully transplant a 3D printed skull into a woman suffering from a brain hemorrhage. The replacement was fabricated by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, which used the patient's CT scans to quickly 3D print a customized titanium implant. 3D printing technology has allowed for skull implants to be created much more quickly and cost-effectively than before, saving the lives of many.
