Dr. Casey Handmer knows much about the universe. As a theoretical physicist, he's drawn to learning about the planets and new kinds of Earth-based futuristic-seeming technologies -- like 3D printing. His most recent contribution to 3D modeling and printing is a Mars Ring, which has a design inspired both by exploratory robots on Mars and naturally occurring elements, like magnetite crystal. The ring was 3D printed in high detail stainless steel by i.materialise. He credits both 3D printing technology, generally, and i.materialise, specifically, for helping him realize his 3D printed Mars Ring concept.
