If you have kids, or can recall being a kid, you're almost certainly familiar with safety scissors, those useless plastic tools that could barely cut paper, but were present in bushels in every primary school classroom. It turns out that plastic doesn't necessarily equal useless, however - English design studio Create8 3D printed a pair of plastic scissors that can cut through paper more effectively than some metal ones. It's a nice demonstration of the effectiveness of 3D printed tools, and is a good advertisement for Create8's design services, of which 3D printing is only one.
