Several 3D printer manufacturers, as well as toy companies, have developed 3D printers specifically for children. One thing we haven't really seen, however, is a kid-oriented 3D scanner. Toy manufacturer Hasbro has filed a patent application for just this, however. The recently published application details a hand-operated turntable that rotates a toy or other object placed upon it, while an iPhone captures multiple images and turns them into a 3D model.
