A trio of engineers from Japan came together several years ago to found exiii, a company which began as the group designed their first myoelectric 3D printed prosthetic hand. They were recognized in a James Dyson contest and soon after began gaining support for their products, which has expanded into a lineup of three prosthetics—the handiii, handiii Coyote, and the HACKberry. They also plan to branch out into other robotic, 3D printed products soon, along with working alongside the making community to empower their members to create and innovate even if they don’t have design or engineering degrees.
