Thread: OBJ to PRT

    OBJ to PRT

I'm trying to convert a .obj file to .prt format so that it can be printed. I tried converting it to .stl and then importing into SolidWorks as both a solid and a surface, but both result in self-intersecting surfaces and many errors. Any thoughts on what I can do to produce a good part?

What printer are you using that can't take STL files?

Wouldn't it be easier to just use the STL?

Personally, when I print on either my Rep2 or Rep2X and I have an OBJ I want to print, I use MeshLab to convert it to an STL then open it in Makerware.
