    RepRapPro Ltd to Close Shop

ReprapPro, a collaboration between RepRap Limited and eMAKER Limited, has just announced that they will be closing their doors on January 15th, 2016. Citing the need to shut down while still solvent, yet fighting an enormous amount of competition, the team says that they will cease trading on the 15th. All of their support and warranty requests up will be met up to that date, and they will also continue to fulfill all their outstanding orders up until that date. The closure does not apply to RepRapPro China Ltd., a separate but somewhat connected company. Check out more details at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/113815/reprappro-ltd-closes-down/

Very sad to read this today. RRP had been a driving force behind some great machines, and the entire RepRap project. They were also one of the main sources driving the RepRap Duet, while T3DP3D is carrying on with the development of the Duet, hopefully we will continue to Mr Bowyer and his works carry on in the community!

Agreed, it's a real shame to hear the news, but maybe an indicator that it's time to evolve the open source model a little. Our solution to the problem of the lack of financial support for innovators takes the best of open and closed source to create FAIR SOURCE. Details of this proposal including links to my comments posted on the RepRap form can be seen here - http://www.buzztechnology.co.uk/fairsource/
