The MakerBot Desktop 3.8 update should have users pretty excited, as while they are probably already enjoying their 3D printers to make some very cool stuff, now they can do so better, faster, and even smarter. With this new update printing is up to thirty percent faster and offers much better structural support. New slicing algorithms have been included, allowing for the extruder to perform more quickly. They also offer a new diamond infill. Due to a variable layer height that was introduced in MakerBot Desktop 3.7, infill can be 3D printed at a thicker layer height than the outer layers.
