The athletic shoe company Adidas has the intent of offering a service where customers can have their feet scanned, run on a treadmill to provide data, and then have a customized pair of shoes 3D printed with a focus on a bespoke midsole based on their exact measurements and data. This is just a hypothetical future concept, so don't get too excited yet if you're an Adidas fan. The company does, however, intend for this phase to be a statement of intent to customers. Adidas will release more information in the beginning of 2016 about 3D printed shoes. Hey, don't look so glum! That's just a few months away.
