Replicate Control Boatrd for 3D Printers

Just launched on Kickstarter, the Replicape controller board is being offered for around $79 USD. Meant to work as a silent and friendly controller board for your 3D printer, the Replicape’s hardware can be modified, and the software is open source. Other peripherals can be added on to this innovation, meant for those building their own 3D printers. Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/99012/3d-printer-smarter-replicape/

Thanks for the link ! very Interesting !
First thing I noticed was that there are No Heatsinks on the chips !

It seems it would require Heatsinks and a Fan to operate in a 3D-printer ?
Unless you want to Cook your Breakfast with it ! LOL

    Heatsink goes on the back

There is plenty of room for a heat sink on the back of the board. There are thermal vias going
through the PCB leading the heat to the underside. For most printers, it should not be necessary
with heat sinks, only for heavy duty printers pushing the stepper controllers to the limits.
For extra cooling, a small fan (15x15mm) can also be mounted next to the ethernet connector
forming a wind tunnel if needed.

    Thanks for Info !
I really like the small compact overall size and the connector design used.
    Looking Good !
Are those 2, 3 & 4 pin female connectors available at someplace like Newark ?
