You’d think that musical performer and recently-minted fashion designer Kanye West would embrace the new and the bold--digital and 3D design and 3D printing--and the capacity of the technology to take his couture and accessories line, Yeezy, to the next level. That wasn’t the case when West got a quick but thorough primer on 3D printing when he visited Armenia’s cutting-edge center for educating youths in 3D design, printing, robotics, and electronics and more. “This is what I’m afraid of because the Internet destroyed the music industry and now, this is what we’re afraid of right now with the textile industry,” West remarked.

Maybe his base assumption that music should be an industry, one which generates millionaires, should be questioned. For most of the history of human civilization it wasn't so. Societies might have collapsed at times, but I don't believe that anyone has proposed that the Roman Empire fell because of lax music copyright protection.
