    3D Printed Arabesque Wall

    Architects and designers Benjamin Dillenburger and Michael Hansmeyer foresee a not-so-distant future in which 3D printing and digital design form the foundation of an kind of architecture that leaves behind forms and materials of the past. Their collaborative effort, Arabesque Wall, an elegant, 3D printed-in-sandstone colossus was on display in an exhibition titled 3DXL, which featured an impressive line-up of avant-garde, 3D printed architecture and architectural sculpture in Toronto this past summer.     I like it! And I also appreciate their call to artists and architects to explore the new design possibilities afforded by these new technologies, and avoid replicating design ideas from the past.
