Today, Mountain View California’s Made in Space announced that they have successfully tested new 3D printing technology that allows their space 3D printer to manufacture objects in the vacuum of space. The new vacuum-compatible extrusion heads were successfully tested last month, and will eventually be incorporated in their new commercial Additive Manufacturing Facility. The current version of their AMF is set to be sent to the International Space Station later in the year for further testing.
