Earlier this week, we saw Dan Levy's 3D printed Spiderhand assistive device for those working up muscle in their hands. One of Levy's collaborators at Lehigh University's Mountaintop Experience Program, Elena Ramirez, has also put files for another exoskeleton creation online, available for download at Thingiverse, called the Aquahand. Ramirez took the time to fill us in about the intent behind the program and design, and collaboration with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital to create 3D printed assistive rehabilitation devices. Those who suffer from movement disorders, such as those caused by strokes, are often afflicted with spastic or flaccid muscle tone.
