Maipu Medical Technology, known also as MedPrin, has announced the successful use in over 10,000 cases of a 3D bio-printed to be used as replacement dura mater in brain surgeries. This material replaces an older effort at recreation of dura mater that often left patients with disturbing side effects. At only 0.2 millimeters thick, the product looks no more useful than a wet paper towel, but as it is designed to form a support structure for the regeneration of the patient's own cells and eventually dissolves leaving no foreign substance present, it is quite a revolution.
