John Christiansen, a risk management analyst by day, has introduced a new toy, which he hopes will be his first "commercially successful invention," the YOYOdrone. A unique take on the traditional yo-yo, built with propellers to enhance the quality of flight, was brought to life thanks to 3D printed prototyping. Once he had a 3D printed version that was ready for testing, he sent it off to YouTuber Doc Pop to check out, try some tricks, and review. At just 28 grams, the very aerodynamic YOYOdrone prototype is a flight success, including with some tricks. To create a full-scale production launch of the final version, Christiansen is now running a Kickstarter campaign seeking to raise $45K by July 15th.
