    Morpheus LIPS 3D Printer

A new startup out of South Korea was on hand at Inside 3D Printing in Seoul this last week. There they unveiled their new 3D printer, the Morpheus. The Morpheus 3D printer uses resin, but is not considered SLA. Instead they use a new process called LIPS technology, similar to Carbon3D's CLIPS technology, only not continuous. The printer is very large for a resin machine, with a build envelope of 13" x 7.1" X 7.9" and can print quite rapidly. Priced at $3,800 it may be out of the budget for some, but considering it's size, rate of printing and resolution (25 - 300 microns), it seems like a decent deal. More details on this machine can be found here: http://3dprint.com/77122/morpheus-resin-3d-printer

The size alone makes this very well priced. I wonder what the running costs are though...

Seoul’s Team Owl Works will soon be launching their Morpheus 3D printer on Kickstarter, but currently are seeking feedback on their site and preparing the campaign further for the high speed, high precision resin 3D printer that features a large build area of 13” x 7.1” x 11.8” and operates on the unique LIPS technology. Meant for the busy SOHO users, the Morpheus 3D printer is said to be 29x faster than an FDM 3D printer and 16x faster than DLP.
