I'm looking to splice my heater cartridge (http://e3d-online.com/Electrical/Com...tridge-12v-25w) with some quick connect JST SM connectors (http://www.adafruit.com/products/318).

I'm concerned about the safety of this. I know the heater cartridge wires have the high-temp silicon shielding all the way down the length of the wire, and I'm just not sure how nicely this would play with the small wires on the JST SM connectors.

I know Makerfarm sells their heater cartridges with quick disconnects, but the silicon shielding goes all the way into the connector, whereas the connectors from Adafruit are pre-built, so I wouldn't be able to run the shielded wire into the connector itself.

Any input? I'm calculating the max current to be around 2.0 - 2.5 A, and the connector is rated to 3.0 A. The heavy duty wires just make me hesitant.
