A challenge from PhD student Alex Hultin has pitted two lacrosse teams, from the UK's Bath and Bristol Universities, against one another with the contest set to produce a team's worth of lacrosse stick heads for just £500 while adhering to international men's field lacrosse standards--in just 5 weeks. Duncan Potts, a student at the University of Bath, was in charge of his team's project, in which they chose to 3D print the lacrosse stick heads. The final tell will be when the teams play against one another on June 2nd, but until then, the results seem positive. Potts' team used SolidEdge St6 to create a CAD model, and after an initial prototype printed their Denford Up! Plus and Ultimaker 2 3D printers to create their stick heads using ABS.
