Concern about the honeybee’s plight and colony collapse disorder (CCD) inspired a large piece of 3D printed edible artwork by conceptual designer Katrin Spranger. In order to make not only a beautiful piece of art for the Collect Open 2015 in London but also a statement, Spranger consulted with Julian Sing of 3dChef, in the Netherlands. Famous for his skill in 3D printing with food, they collaborated on a piece of artwork that to Sing’s knowledge is the largest 3D printed edible ever.
