Brazilian artist Marcelo Pasqua found himself drawn toward the use of technology in making at an early age. However, rather than using that as an excuse to reject history, he submerged himself in the study of classical art at the Florence Academy of Art. Building on his study of classical beauty, he has recently created a series of Venus de Milo variations in which deformations were introduced to the models, encouraging the viewer to question traditional Western canons of beauty.
